Network Management

Wi-Fi that reaches the back office. A firewall that’s actually configured.

Business-grade firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi and VPN, installed cleanly, labeled, documented and watched around the clock from our help desk.

What’s in a business network

Four parts. Each one matters.

1

Internet & firewall

The business-grade firewall between you and the internet: content filtering, intrusion prevention, and a second internet line that takes over if the first fails.

2

Switches & cabling

Managed switches that power your phones and access points, with every port labeled and a tidy patch panel so the next tech doesn’t need a map.

3

Wi-Fi

Enterprise access points placed from a site survey, a separate guest network, and roaming that doesn’t drop a Teams call when you walk to the kitchen.

4

Remote access

A proper VPN or zero-trust access for staff working from home, so nobody is opening remote desktop to the internet.

Signs it’s time

Does any of this sound familiar?

Most networks we take over weren’t designed; they grew. A router from the internet company, a switch from a big-box store, an access point somebody added when the back office couldn’t connect. It works until it doesn’t.

  • Wi-Fi drops when you walk from one end of the office to the other
  • Video calls freeze while someone else is uploading
  • The “firewall” is the router your internet provider shipped
  • Guests connect to the same network as your file server
  • Nobody knows what the gray box in the closet does
  • Remote staff use a remote-desktop port open to the internet
  • When the internet goes down, you find out from a customer
  • The Wi-Fi password is on a sticky note and hasn’t changed in years

Monitoring

We know before you do.

Internet down

Alert to our help desk within minutes, and a call to your provider before you’ve noticed.

Firmware

Firewall, switch and access-point updates applied after hours, on a schedule.

Config backup

Every device’s configuration backed up nightly, so a failed firewall is a swap, not a rebuild.

Reporting

A quarterly summary of uptime, bandwidth use and what’s reaching end of life.

Getting started

From assessment to a documented network.

Step 1

Site assessment

We walk the office, map what’s installed, test Wi-Fi coverage and check the firewall configuration.

Step 2

Design & quote

A drawing of the proposed network, an itemized hardware list, and a fixed installation price.

Step 3

Install

Usually one evening or a weekend: equipment racked, cables labeled, Wi-Fi tuned, old gear removed.

Step 4

Monitor & maintain

Added to 24/7 monitoring, firmware kept current, documentation handed over and kept up to date.

FAQ

Common questions

Something we didn’t cover? Ask us directly.

Can you work with the equipment we already have?

Often, yes. Business-grade gear that’s still supported stays; consumer routers and unmanaged switches usually go, because they can’t be monitored or secured.

Do we need a second internet connection?

If a day without internet costs you more than a second line costs for a year, yes. The firewall fails over automatically and most clients never notice an outage.

How do you handle Wi-Fi for guests and visitors?

A separate guest network with its own password, isolated from your computers and printers, with a splash page if you want one.

What brands do you install?

[Name your preferred vendors here, e.g. Ubiquiti, Fortinet, Meraki.] We recommend based on your size and budget, and itemize every piece on the quote.

Is network management included in Managed IT?

Monitoring and maintenance are. Installation and new hardware are quoted as a project, at a reduced rate for managed clients.

Is your network designed, or did it just happen?
